The Führer's food tasters

The Führer's food tasters

During World War II, fifteen young women were forced by the SS to become Hitler's food tasters, to protect him from poisoning. Among them was Margot Wölk, an ordinary woman who lived in terror for two and a half years, never knowing if her next meal would be her last. They were neither heroes nor perpetrators, but victims of a regime that turned them into human guinea pigs, trapped between the instinct to survive and the guilt of keeping a monster alive. Their story, hidden for decades, is a haunting reminder of how fear can strip away the freedom to choose.
